…Two turtle doves and a partridge in pear tree.
I ordered a bunch of books from Amazon for Christmas gifts. Most of them are for my husband. Between the two of us, we have tons of books. I finally bought a Kindle, but I’ll never stop buying books.
I found my copy of Truman Capote’s Music for Chameleons the other day. I still can’t believe the same man who wrote In Cold Blood also wrote Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Capote’s A Christmas Memory is a favorite of mine. It almost makes me like fruitcake. And reading it, always makes me cry.
I read O. Henry’s Gift of the Magi when I was in grade school. Every time I see a pocket watch, which isn’t very often, I think of that story.
For me, these stories of simpler times and selfless giving embody the true spirit of the season.
